Glen-L 17
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 17 ft 3 in minimum overnighter sloop from Glen-L Marine: two berths, space for a portable toilet, a masthead rig with all lines led aft for single-handing, and an outboard to 10 hp. Three-eighths plywood on a beamy vee-bottomed hull, about 475 lb.
The plans cover building forms, spars and rigging with step-by-step instructions, so an amateur with one smaller boat behind them will manage. Budget 350 to 600 hours, typically one to two seasons. Medians from build logs are below.
What building a Glen-L 17 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
