The plywood version of Glen-L Marine's Glen-L 25, a 25 ft trailerable sloop offered in two cabin layouts, the single-cabin Solo and the two-cabin, center-cockpit Duet. A retracting ballasted centerboard keeps it towable and gives shoal draft. Boats of this design have sailed to Hawaii and won class in the Newport to Ensenada race. Glen-L publish a beam of 7 ft 11 in and a draft of 2 ft 1 in.
The bare hull comes out at about 1600 lb. Sail area is Main - 127.5 sq ft. Displacement is 3500 lb. Headroom below is 5'-0". The hull is a combination centerboard/ballast keel for stability and ease of trailering. Hull form of semi-round bottom and sides, with soft chine between. Developed for 3/8" sheet plywood planking. For power they specify outboard motor to 10 hp on transom bracket. They draw a matching trailer for her. A large plywood project: hull over frames, then a full interior and rig.
