Mackinaw
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 20 ft 6 in, or 19 ft, express cruiser sportfisher from Glen-L Marine with a two-berth cabin and portable head, a roomy cockpit and generous fuel, on the beamy wide-track hull with a 45 degree bow and 13 degree transom deadrise. Half-inch plywood bottom and three-eighths sides over sawn frames, or welded aluminum; outboard or I/O to 900 lb; about 3,500 lb.
Aimed at do-it-yourself builders, even first-timers, with full-size frame patterns. Budget 600 to 1,000 hours. Real hours from logged builds are below.
What building a Mackinaw actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
