Malahini
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 15 ft 11 in classic outboard runabout from Glen-L Marine in the style of the old woodies, finished in natural mahogany plywood or painted with a mahogany deck. Modular seats give a 9 ft flat floor for camping gear, and the self-bailing well keeps following seas out. Vee-bottomed sheet plywood, about 475 lb, outboards to 85 hp. Glen-L publish a beam of 6 ft 7 in and a hull depth of 31 in.
They put the usual load at 1 to 4 people. The hull is a vee bottom hard chine developed for sheet plywood planking. Glen-L say the hull may be shortened if the plans are followed. They draw a matching trailer for her. All the details are prepared for the amateur, step by step. Budget 300 to 550 hours, more for a bright finish. Measured medians from logged builds appear below.
