Tiny Titan
Designed by Glen-L Marine
An 8 ft 2 in three-point hydroplane from Glen-L Marine, a mini version of the competition boats for children and light drivers under about 170 lb on outboards to 20 hp, about 65 lb. Sheet plywood, no building form, simple steps and minimal waste; smooth protected water only, helmet and life jacket always. Glen-L publish a beam of 4 ft 5 in and a hull depth of 12 in.
They put the usual load at 1 people. The hull is a three-point hydroplane developed for sheet plywood planking. An excellent beginning project for a youngster to build alone or with a little help. Allow 40 to 80 hours. Measured medians from logged builds appear below.
What building a Tiny Titan actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
Where the time goes
Hours summed per builder, then the median taken across builders, so someone who logs a step in fourteen short entries doesn’t outweigh someone who logged it in one. Example logs are excluded.
