Tornado
Designed by Glen-L Marine
An 18 ft 6 in low-profile vee-drive ski boat from Glen-L Marine with flaring anti-trip sides, a smooth tumblehome into the deck at the transom, bucket cockpits and the engine left exposed for show. Vee-bottomed sheet plywood, about 725 lb; stern-mounted inboard to 800 lb on a vee drive.
Rugged but relatively simple to build, with Glen-L's interlocking motor-stringer method. Budget 500 to 850 hours. Real hours from logged builds are below.
What building a Tornado actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
