Torpedo
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 19 ft 3 in classic inboard runabout from Glen-L Marine whose decking and aft superstructure sweep back to a point, hence the name, in the manner of the deluxe runabouts of the past. Fiberglass-covered cold-molded construction with a convex vee bottom, a sawn harpin to ease the sharp forward sheer bend, and an optional second cockpit; inline inboard to about 350 cu in.
Full-size frame patterns drawn as the frames will look finished simplify the job, but it is still cold molding and bright finishing. Budget 1,000 to 1,800 hours. Real hours from logged builds show below.
What building a Torpedo actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
