Idea 21
Designed by Cristian Pilo
A 6.3 m trailerable sportboat developed from the Idea 19, drawn for amateur builders in radius chine plywood and epoxy over a plywood and solid-wood structure. A vertical lifting keel with a lead bulb draws 1.75 m sailing and 0.50 m raised, on a 2.50 m beam that keeps her on a trailer. Fractional rig with a square-top main and 27.5 m² upwind, plus a gennaker set from a retractable bowsprit. Sold as two plan sets, a racer and a cruiser with a cabin 55 cm longer, both sleeping four with 1.65 m headroom. About 900 kg equipped and 1,200 kg at design displacement, with a small outboard on a transom bracket.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
