Carolina 25

Designed by Salt Boatworks

The flagship of the Salt Boatworks range, a North Carolina sportfisherman in a trailerable center console form. She carries the regional signatures, a flared bow, broken sheer and tumblehome aft, over a traditional Carolina bottom with 18 degrees of deadrise at the transom and a sharp entry forward. Inside there is a single-level deck all the way forward and one large fuel tank of 140 gallons, with a step-down space inside the console; an express version with a cabin is also possible.

The hull is 25 ft 2 in long, 28 ft with the bracket, on an 8 ft 6 in beam, and draws about 17 in at 6,000 lb. Power is a single 350 hp or twin 200s, for a 30 to 35 mph cruise. She is cold molded in marine plywood, with Coosa board in the transom and bracket where most of the holes go, and is recommended for experienced builders. Plans or a CNC-cut jig kit are available.
