Blue Blazer 25
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 25 ft 3 in planing day launch by Sam Devlin, commissioned for fair-weather harbour cruising at Newport, Rhode Island. The helm is a stand-up centre console behind a bench seat, with a sunbathing daybed over the engine box, a small windscreen with a convertible top, and two bunks and space for a toilet under the foredeck. A 155 hp diesel sterndrive gives a 20 knot cruise and 26 knots flat out at 4,500 lb.
The stitch and glue hull is straightforward, but the laid teak decks and yacht-grade detailing are demanding, and the Devlin site suggests many owners will prefer a yard build. An experienced amateur should budget 2,000 to 3,000 hours as a rule of thumb. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.

Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
