Flats River Skiff 15
Designed by Salt Boatworks
A 15 ft by 5 ft 4 in tiller skiff for two people fishing shallow water, the point where the Flats River series moves from micro skiff to small flats boat. Low deadrise aft and a sharp entry give a smooth ride in light chop and stability at rest, the flat foredeck takes a trolling motor with anchor, battery and gear stowed beneath, and the rear seating can be a split or full bench. A compact side console is an option.
She draws about 6.5 in loaded and carries 700 lb, with 25 hp recommended and 30 hp the maximum; Salt Boatworks quotes about 28 mph on 25 hp and 33 on 30. Construction is stitch and glue in quarter-inch and 3/8 in marine plywood. Plans include full-size patterns, and a plywood kit adds CNC-cut panels, flotation foam, a Coast Guard capacity plate and a hull identification number.
