Spirited 230 Power

Designed by Spirited Designs

A trailerable planing power catamaran for camping style cruising, built from a light sandwich flat panel kit so that it weighs considerably less than a production cat of similar size. The point of the design is to reach cruising grounds by road rather than by sea and to be hosed off and parked at home afterwards. The current Mk2 version is longer and deeper than the original to carry more displacement.

There is a wheelhouse galley, dinette and helm, a queen berth forward with a head under a seat, and a walk-through transom to a swim platform between twin outboards. Twin 60 hp four strokes give around 20 knots cruising and 28 at the top, with 115 hp per side the maximum. Kits come in DuFLEX or plain foam, and the estimate is about 2,500 hours.
