Wing Dinghy

A 12 ft planing dinghy that is essentially a scaled-down International 14 with some of the Lake Garda racer lines mixed in, which is a lot of pedigree for a boat whose materials, rig and sail the company reckoned could be bought in a single trip to a well-stocked home centre. She carries a large fully-battened mainsail and a jib, with a kick-up rudder and a daggerboard, and a full-length keelson so she keeps steering when the board is up.
The stock hull weighs 125 lb, is naturally buoyant and has four vented flotation compartments on top of that. Wing decks along each side give somewhere controlled and comfortable to sit when hiking out. Builders who want more out of her are pointed at lighter plywood, a carbon windsurfer mast and a bowsprit with a third sail.
