Buckboard

Designed by Glen-L Marine

An 11 ft 11 in plywood sailboard from Glen-L Marine with an unstayed lateen rig and daggerboard, about 85 lb, that gets going in a hurry on all that sail. Two and a half sheets of quarter-inch plywood, no building form or special tools.

Glen-L calls it an ideal summer project and an introduction to both boatbuilding and sailing, one kids can build with help. Allow 60 to 120 hours plus the sail. Measured medians from logged builds appear below.

What building a Buckboard actually takes

Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
