Skoota 32

Designed by Richard Woods

A 9.9 m (32 ft 6 in) liveaboard power catamaran from Richard Woods of Woods Designs, with nearly twice the displacement of his Skoota 28. Flat panel foam sandwich, made on simple melamine table moulds, with symmetric hard-chine hulls. Beam 4.85 m to suit the French canals, about 3.1 tonnes empty, twin 40 to 60 hp outboards for a 12 knot cruise. Outside steering frees the interior for an owner's hull, a guest hull and standing headroom throughout.

Woods says amateurs can build it and that the mostly gelcoat finish cuts filling and fairing. No hours are published; his smaller Skoota 28 is listed at 2,000 minimum, so budget 3,000 to 5,000 as a rule of thumb. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
