Flica 34
Designed by Richard Woods
A 10.4 m (34 ft) family ocean cruising catamaran from Richard Woods of Woods Designs, also sold for a time as a GRP production boat. Home builders use hard-chine flat panel hulls in sheet plywood or GRP with plywood or foam sandwich decks. Beam 5.6 m, about 3.5 tonnes empty, 55 sq m of sail, full standing headroom on the bridgedeck, four double cabins, twin 9 to 18 hp diesels, keels and wheel steering. Many have chartered, and one sailed from the UK to New Zealand.
The most fully fitted boat in Woods's list and the longest build: 3,000 hours is his minimum for a practised builder to a basic fit out, so budget 4,000 to 6,000 first time. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
What building a Flica 34 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
