Theresa II is a canoe yawl by the English artist and yacht designer Albert Strange (1855 to 1917): a two-masted, gaff-rigged yawl about 25 1/2 ft on deck with the canoe stern that became his hallmark. Strange drew her for cruising without an engine and with cast iron ballast. A replica is being built in the United States by Northshore Boats, whose builder plans lead ballast and an auxiliary and believes no other example exists.
The builder notes that the original drawings leave out a good deal of detail, so extra design work and traditional boatbuilding skill are needed. This is a project for an experienced builder; expect several thousand hours over a number of years. Any hours logged here appear below.
