A 22 ft 6 in vee-bottom outboard cuddy cruiser by Arch Davis, 8 ft 6 in in beam, drawn for builders who liked the look of the Jiffy 22 but needed a softer ride in exposed water. It is designed for 65 to 115 hp; one builder reports 35 mph flat out and 25 mph cruising with a 115 hp outboard.
Construction follows the girder method of the Jack Tar: the hull is built upside down over bulkheads and temporary frames, tied together by two fore-and-aft girders each side, with plywood bottom planking glued and fastened to girders, keel and chines. It takes 42 sheets of plywood, and the designer rates it for builders with some woodworking experience. Budget 1,000 to 1,800 hours. Real hours from logged builds are below.
