Ocracoke 20-B

Designed by Graham Byrnes

A bracketed development of the Ocracoke 20 by Graham Byrnes of B&B Yacht Designs, 22 ft 5 in over the hull and its integral outboard bracket and 7 ft 10 in wide. Deadrise was raised to 16 degrees for rough water, and power is 90 hp recommended with 150 maximum. The first boat, launched in Australia, reported 39 knots with a 150. Construction follows the Ocracoke 20, cold molded plywood over permanent framing. Plans and CNC kits are offered.

B&B does not recommend it as a first build, while saying it should give no trouble to a patient builder who already knows wood, epoxy and fiberglass. Budget 1,200 to 2,000 hours as a rough guide. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
