Angler's Big Trip

Designed by Ashes Still Water Boats

The largest of the Angler's series, listed by Ashes at 18 ft 6 in by 36 in with a target weight of about 50 pounds, and described as a high capacity, stable tripper. Unlike the rest of the range there is no published plan page or detailed statistics for her; the canoe plans listing marks her as available by special request only.

Ashes uses that label for hulls still in its design and prototype loop. Builders willing to be among the first to build one are invited to join a development program run by designer Trevor Paetkau, and Ashes says it may even supply such plans free in return. Anyone considering her should expect the Angler's family traits, a broad shallow arch bottom built for stability, carried to a longer, heavier load carrying hull in cedar strip, but should treat the details as unproven until the plans are released.
