A 15 ft 6 in open rowing skiff with an auxiliary sail by Jacques Mertens, sold by Bateau / Boat Builder Central as the OT16. It is a rowboat first: long enough for proper oars and to carry its way through a chop, for one or two rowers. The 65 sq ft rig stows inside the boat, and the small daggerboard and rudder do not hurt rowing. Designed weight is 160 lb; a 2 hp outboard is the limit.

Stitch and glue sharpie fashion with glass splices instead of scarfs. The designer says the rowing version can be a first project and gives 25 hours for the hull, with the sailing option more than doubling that. Budget 80 to 160. Logged build hours for this design are shown below.
