Blekingseka no. 13
Designed by Bertil Andersson
Robert Persson Palmqvist built this oak skiff at Risanäs in 1929, and Bertil Andersson measured her in June 1980. Nothing further is recorded about her working life, so the plan stands mainly as a faithful record of a between-the-wars Blekingseka of 4.49 m by 1.49 m.
Nobody knows exactly when the type first appeared; Andersson suggests the 1600s, and by the 1800s it had become almost the only kind of boat used in Blekinge, from the Kalmarsund coast down to the south coast of Skåne. This set gives three sheets at 1:10, construction, frames and a lines drawing, but no sail plan, so a builder wanting to rig her would borrow a spritsail from one of the other ekor in the series. Most sets also include a sheet listing materials and dimensions.
What building a Blekingseka no. 13 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
