Tres Hombres Sloep
Designed by Manta Marine Design
This small sloep was first drawn as a push boat for the Tres Hombres, an engineless sailing cargo schooner brig. In the days of commercial sail, ships without engines were sometimes nudged around harbours by little boats like this one, and the design revives that job. It works just as well as a recreational motor dinghy.
She measures 4.45 m by 1.60 m, draws 0.5 m and displaces about 400 kg, built in plywood with a fibreglass covering. Manta Marine Design lists a brochure, study plans and building plans, along with a kit. The published information is brief, so builders will want the study plans before deciding, but the type and proportions point to a sturdy, beamy harbour launch rather than anything light or fast.
What building a Tres Hombres Sloep actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
