Flateka no. 23
Designed by Bertil Andersson
Most flatekor were knocked together by joiners, but this one came out of a proper yard: Hilding Bengtsson built her in spruce at Ludvigsborgs båtbyggeri in Skåne in 1965, and she was used on the lake Ringsjön.
She is a small boat, 4.12 m by 1.44 m, and the drawing is one 1:10 sheet with construction and frame drawings combined, measured in September 1980. Andersson notes that lake flatekor were nearly always spruce and not expected to last long; it was simpler to build another than to nurse an old one along. That attitude makes this a fair candidate for a quick, inexpensive build for sheltered water, rowed or pushed by a small outboard.
What building a Flateka no. 23 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
