Flateka pram no. 26
Designed by Bertil Andersson
Edvin Jönsson built this pram at Kämpinge in Skåne in 1971, using oak for the stem and transom and spruce for everything else. That mix is typical of the better flatekor: hardwood where the fastenings and knocks are concentrated, cheap softwood for the flat bottom and the sides.
She measures 4.03 m by 1.46 m, a little narrower than the Trelleborg pram in the same series, and was surveyed in September 1980. The plans are two sheets at 1:10, construction and frames. As with the other flat-bottomed boats here, the appeal is simplicity: she is a reasonable first wooden boat, and Andersson's notes make the point that boats of this kind were meant to be practical and expendable rather than heirlooms.
What building a Flateka pram no. 26 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
