Flateka no. 27
Designed by Bertil Andersson
An unusual flateka in that she is oak throughout, where most of her kind were spruce. She was built in the 1910s by a builder nobody recorded, at Holländarehusen on the river Lödde in Skåne, and was still there to be measured in September 1980.
At 5.06 m by 1.75 m she is the longest boat in the flateka section of the collection, and the set is better than most for the type: three sheets at 1:10 with a lines plan alongside the construction and frame drawings. The oak build suggests a boat expected to work hard and last, which sets her apart from the cheaper softwood boats Andersson describes as easier to replace than to maintain.
What building a Flateka no. 27 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
