Motorsnipa no. 34

Designed by Bertil Andersson

Small inboard engines eventually made a motor boat practical at 14 or 15 ft, and this is the example Andersson chose to document. The first of the design was built on Östra Hästholmen in 1951 for an inshore fisherman who used it every day for thirty years with a 2 hp AW engine; the boat on the drawing was built at Mårtenssons in 1982.

She has an oak keel, stems and frames and pine planking, and measures 4.32 m by 1.32 m. Surveyed in April 1982, she is the most recent boat in the collection and one of the better documented, with four 1:10 sheets: construction in profile, construction in plan, frames and lines. A full-size version is also available, making her a realistic project for someone who wants a small traditional inboard boat.
