14' Motorjolle
Designed by Boatkits
A 4.31 m fast outboard dinghy with steering console and seats, sold as a CNC-cut plywood kit by Boatkits, part of Denmark's Boatplans ApS. It carries 10 to 30 hp, and Boatkits puts its speed potential at close to 35 knots depending on load. High freeboard keeps it dry. Beam is 1.66 m, weight about 138 kg, crew up to four. A stringer and frame structure stiffens the hull.
Boatkits calls the interlocking stringers and frames easy to assemble, but a planing hull rewards some care and experience. Boatkits gives 75 to 85 hours for hull and structure only and puts fairing, paint and outfitting at 1 to 1.5 times that again. A rough budget is 150 to 210 hours.
