Skånesnipa TG 24 no. 18
Designed by Bertil Andersson
A working Skåne motor double-ender carrying the Trelleborg fishing number TG 24. Malte Göransson built her entirely of oak at Öster Jär near Trelleborg in 1958, and she had a 15 hp Yanmar when Andersson measured her in September 1980.
The snipa is the slender Nordic double-ender, pointed at both ends, and the Skåne version was used well out on the open sea. With an engine and reverse gear, a heavy boat like this could make port safely in bad weather, which is why motors spread so quickly once they became cheaper and more reliable. She is 5.95 m by 2.17 m, with four 1:10 sheets: an exterior profile, construction, frames and lines.
