Mandolin Cruise

The Mandolino began with a drawing given to Lodigiani by Sergio Spina, an expert on traditional construction living on Elba, which he published in his book on traditional Italian boats: a 4.80 m lateen-rigged boat of the kind usually just called typical. This design takes its inspiration from that, with a good deal changed in both shape and rig. It began as a day boat where looks mattered more than interior volume, and the hull then turned out to offer more than that.
A 7.43 m cruiser worked up from a drawing by Sergio Spina of Elba, who drew from the lines of traditional Italian boats. Round hulled strip planking, and a demanding build.
