Designed by Boatkits
A 4.11 m rowing dory sold as a CNC-cut stitch-and-glue kit by Boatkits, part of Denmark's Boatplans ApS. Just three plywood pieces form the sides and bottom. The narrow bottom tapers at both ends and the sides flare for a dry ride. Beam is 1.21 m, weight about 46 kg. It moves under oars, a small 2.4 sq m sail, or a 2 to 3 hp outboard or electric motor, and carries up to three. Sail and spars cost extra.
A three-panel hull keeps the build about as simple as it gets. Boatkits quotes 40 to 50 hours for hull and structure and says finishing adds 1 to 1.5 times that again, so budget roughly 80 to 125 hours. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
