8' Entlein
Designed by Boatkits
A 2.42 m clinker-style pram, the smallest kit from Boatkits (Boatplans ApS, Denmark). It weighs about 22 kg, so it tows as a tender or rides on a roof rack. The complete kit includes the building jig, all plywood parts, screws, epoxy and even the oars; only paint is left to buy. It rows, takes a 2 to 3 hp outboard or an electric motor, and the page adds that an Optimist sail can be fitted.
Boatkits calls this its easiest kit of all, one that anybody can build. The kit house's figure is 15 to 25 hours to the bare hull, with finishing put at 1 to 1.5 times as much on top. Budget roughly 30 to 60 hours. Real hours from logged builds are below.
What building a 8' Entlein actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
