Glen-L Marine's Drift Prams are 8 ft and 10 ft river rowing prams built by stitch and glue, among the quickest boats in the whole catalog to put together. Panels are cut from full-size patterns, wired together, filleted and taped with epoxy, then glassed outside. Their wide flat bottoms make them very stable, and the shoal draft and rocker let them work fishing holes that bigger boats pass by. The 8 ft model can be built in two widths to fit a van or car top.
A genuine first project, and a fast one. Expect around 40 to 80 hours, which many builders spread across a few weekends. Glen-L sells stitch-and-glue and fiberglass kits for both sizes. Real hours from logged builds appear below.
