The 5.5 m Sea Strike from Mark Bowdidge of Bowdidge Marine Designs in Australia, a deep-vee centre console with 23 degrees of deadrise, steeper than her 16 ft sister. Beam is 2.18 m and draft 261 mm. She carries a 200 litre underfloor tank and up to 150 hp on a 25 in leg, and the designer puts trailer weight at about 889 kg with motor and fuel. Livewell, fish boxes, walk-through transom and a forward casting platform are standard, with bow rider seating optional.
Construction is plywood sheathed in epoxy and fibreglass, from 15 plan sheets backed by nearly 300 build photos. A reasonable first build for someone persistent. No designer hours are published; expect 500 to 900. The medians below are from builders who logged this boat here.
