Coastworker 28
Designed by Bruce Roberts-Goodson
Bruce Roberts' most popular small powerboat, the Coastworker 28 shares its drawings with the 25 footer, and he counts over a thousand of the two sizes completed. It is meant as a small work or fishing boat that can double as a family cruiser, and a centre console version has been drawn as well.
The range of versions is wide. Metal and fibreglass plans come in trailerable 8 ft 3 in beam and 9 ft 4 in beam forms, in semi-displacement or planing hulls, while the wood and epoxy plans are for a planing hull 28 ft long and 10 ft wide, quoted at 18 to 25 knots, with 32 and 36 ft stretches drawn on the same lines. The large cockpit has storage boxes aft and an engine box that can serve as a table.
What building a Coastworker 28 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
