A 28 ft, or 26 ft, early 1930s style grand triple-cockpit runabout from Glen-L Marine, a replica of the famous classics in stiff, tight cold-molded wood and epoxy. Double-diagonal veneer and plywood planking, five-eighths on the bottom and half-inch on the sides, over closely spaced battens on frames and backbone; no steam bending, rabbets, caulking or lofting.
Glen-L says any caring do-it-yourself woodworker can tackle it, and the length of the boat says it will take a while. Budget 1,800 to 3,000 hours. Measured medians from logged builds appear below.
