A 14 ft 10 in pocket cruiser by John C. Harris of Chesapeake Light Craft, built stitch and glue in plywood and sold as plans or a staged kit. A cabin with room for two adults to sleep, a portable head, a cockpit long enough to sleep in, 148 sq ft of sail and a 1,150 lb hull that tows behind a four-cylinder car. CLC says several hundred are sailing or under construction, and many carry a 2 hp outboard.
CLC rates it intermediate and estimates 650 hours, or about 30 weekends plus evenings; the professionally built prototype hull and spars took about 525. Budget 650 to 1,000 hours for a first cabin boat. Real hours from logged builds are below.
