16' Segelboot
Designed by Boatkits
A 4.54 m trailer cruiser for inland waters, sold as a CNC-cut plywood kit by Boatkits, part of Denmark's Boatplans ApS. The cabin has two berths and room for a galley and portable toilet. Beam is 1.87 m, weight about 215 kg, and the main and jib total 9.2 sq m. It may carry four, though the page says two is better. Sails and spars cost extra.
Boatkits rates it suitable for beginners and experienced sailors alike, but a cabin and rig add real work. Boatkits gives 110 to 120 hours for hull and structure only and puts fairing, paint and outfitting at 1 to 1.5 times that again. A rough budget is 220 to 300 hours.
