PT Eleven Nesting Dinghy

Designed by Russell Brown

An 11 ft nesting dinghy developed by Russell and Ashlyn Brown of PT Watercraft in Port Townsend, with kits produced by Chesapeake Light Craft since 2020. The two halves can be joined while afloat, the hull weighs about 90 lb with a 518 lb payload, and it rows, tows and sails well under a 54 sq ft rig. It is built from machined okoume plywood with epoxy and fiberglass, and is sold as a kit with PT Watercraft hardware.

CLC rates it intermediate: no epoxy experience is required thanks to a detailed manual, but hand tool skills and patient craftsmanship are. CLC's figure is 200 hours, with 190 to 300 quoted as the usual spread over three months. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
