Wood Duck 10

Designed by Eric Schade

A 10 ft recreational kayak designed by Eric Schade for Chesapeake Light Craft, the smallest adult boat in the Wood Duck line. It is stitch-and-glue okoume plywood glassed inside and out, 30 in wide and about 36 lb, with a 38 in cockpit, a rear hatch and a 250 lb payload for paddlers up to about 200 lb. CLC stresses how easily a short, light boat gets launched. Kits come with an okoume or sapele deck, and plans are sold.

Among CLC's easiest kits, with puzzle joints and pre-drilled stitch holes, and rated beginner. CLC's estimate is 80 hours; budget 60 to 100. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
