Broadbill 11
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 10 ft 8 in sneakbox for the solo duck hunter, the smallest of Sam Devlin's boats of this type. At 105 lb dry she goes in a pickup bed or on a roof rack, draws 4.5 in and can be rowed or driven by an outboard of up to 15 hp, which Devlin says gives close to 30 mph. Her very low profile suits a layout-style blind, with room for a dog and about a dozen decoys.
A small stitch and glue hull with a full deck, suitable as a first boat. Budget 80 to 150 hours as a rule of thumb. Real hours from logged builds are below.
What building a Broadbill 11 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
