Dipper 19
Designed by Sam Devlin
An 18 ft 8 in pilothouse pocket cruiser by Sam Devlin, a reworking of his older Dipper 16 sized to travel inside a 20 ft shipping container. Twin four-stroke outboards of 10 to 20 hp hang on the transom, so she can spin in her own length and the motors can be unshipped for transport. Twin 10s give about 6 knots on under a gallon an hour and 10 knots flat out. Inside are a stand-up galley and twin berths that fill in to a near queen. Displacement is 2,545 lb, and a CNC-cut hull kit is sold.
Stitch and glue with a full cabin, best with some experience. Budget 900 to 1,400 hours as a rule of thumb. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
