Little Cod 21
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 21 ft 5 in garvey-type outboard skiff by Sam Devlin, built stitch and glue as a larger relative of his Cackler line. The bow transom and vee bottom put volume forward, so it can nose onto a beach and let the crew walk off the bow, and a centerline keel with bilge keels protects it aground. Beam is 7 ft 7 in, draft 9.5 in and displacement 2,600 lb. With a 100 to 150 hp outboard the designer quotes over 40 mph.
Study and construction plans are sold. It is a simple open shape, but a large one to plank and fair. As a rule of thumb, budget 500 to 900 hours. Real hours from logged builds are below.
