Micro Petrel

An 8 ft pram-style yacht tender by Sam Devlin, the smallest of his Petrel dinghies and built stitch and glue. The Devlin shop describes it as its answer to the need for a small, rugged, lightweight tender, suitable for cartop use, and says the building technique is identical to that of the larger Lit'l Petrel 9. A customer who built one as a tender to his sailboat reported that it rows very easily.
Plans are sold in the Devlin shop as Micro Petrel 8, but the linked information page is missing from the site, so no beam or weight is published there. A pram this small is a good first boat. As a rule of thumb, budget 30 to 60 hours. Real hours from logged builds are below.
