MugWump 22
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 23 ft 7 in trailerable outboard pocket cruiser by Sam Devlin, built stitch and glue and meant to double as a travel trailer on the road. Beam is 8 ft 6 in, draft 1 ft 9 in and displacement 4,300 lb, with a 60 to 75 hp outboard. There are berths for two forward, a galley, a two-person dinette, an enclosed head with shower and a covered cockpit. On its trailer it stands 11 ft tall.
Study plans and full construction plans, with 3-D renderings, are sold. A complete small cruiser like this suits a builder with some experience. As a rule of thumb, budget 1,500 to 2,500 hours. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
What building a MugWump 22 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
