North Haven 24
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 23 ft 10 in pocket lobster boat by Sam Devlin, reworked from his older Sea Chaser hull at the urging of Chris Cornell, a former Professional BoatBuilder editor. Stitch and glue okoume plywood sheathed in fiberglass and then Dynel, 8 ft 6 in beam for legal trailering, about 4,200 lb, and a 90 to 150 hp outboard for 20 to 25 knot cruising. A semi-enclosed pilothouse, sitting-headroom trunk cabin and a big open cockpit suit weekend cruising and island hopping.
Devlin says it can be built by professionals or amateurs, though a boat this size suits someone with a smaller build already done. As a rule of thumb, expect 1,200 to 2,000 hours. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
What building a North Haven 24 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
