Oysta 25
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 25 ft double-ended motorsailer idea from Sam Devlin, styled after the short North Sea fishing boats, with an 8 ft 6 in beam and 3 ft draft. The shop once built a hull to this concept for a customer, and the page describes it as a very seaworthy, compact little cruiser. It is the smallest of the Oysta motorsailer family, which runs up to 62 ft.
Only downloadable study plans are sold, so a builder would need Devlin to develop construction drawings before starting. The heavy double-ended form and a full cruising interior point to an experienced amateur. As a rule of thumb for a boat of this type, expect 2,000 to 3,500 hours. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
What building a Oysta 25 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
