Pelicano 18 Shrimper
Designed by Sam Devlin
An 18 ft 5 in outboard boat with workboat looks, the Shrimper version of the Pelicano 18. The hull is Sam Devlin's take on the Mexican panga: a fast six-panel planing form with a stainless-shod purpleheart keel for beaching. The Shrimper has a small cabin forward with room for a v-berth. Beam is 7 ft 5 in, about 1,490 lb dry with engine and battery, 90 hp maximum and over 40 mph.
Stitch and glue over five bulkheads and two longitudinals, with a second plywood layer cold molded onto the bottom. This version is also sold as a CNC cut kit. Devlin quotes 700 to 900 hours for the larger Pelicano 23; budget roughly 450 to 750 here. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
