Pelicano 20
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 20 ft 2 in outboard cuddy boat by Sam Devlin, a stretched Pelicano that began as a custom build named Adeline. It works as a traditional speedboat, a fishing boat and a weekend explorer, with a roomy cabin forward that takes a v-berth and dry stowage. Beam is 7 ft 5 in, draft 10 in, displacement 2,300 lb, and the 115 hp maximum is good for more than 40 mph. It trailers easily and fits a normal garage.
The design page lists study plans only, although a later news post mentions a Pelicano 20 kit, so ask Devlin what is current. Devlin quotes 700 to 900 hours for the Pelicano 23; as a rule of thumb, budget 600 to 900 here. Real hours from logged builds are below.
What building a Pelicano 20 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
