Millie Hill 28
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 28 ft 5 in liveaboard shanty boat by Sam Devlin, built stitch and glue and commissioned by a boatbuilder friend in Korea. An earlier 25 ft by 10 ft version was enlarged to give real living space while remaining movable on a flatbed trailer. Beam is 12 ft 3 in, draft 13 in and displacement 14,000 lb, with an outboard for moving under its own power.
Study and construction plans are sold, and the Devlin shop will also build it. The hull is simple, but this is a small house to frame, finish and wire. As a rule of thumb, expect 2,500 to 4,000 hours. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
